Meet the people leading the movement for better education at our school! These are the Teach For India Fellows coming from different walks of life who have dedicated two years of their life, full time, to teach and to be taught lessons in life and leadership.
Before the fellowship: Studied at Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad. Approximately 8 years of work experience with Times of India, DNA, Flora2000.com, and Pratham (right before Teach for India). Pratham was my gateway into the world of "education for all". I worked on coordinating a 2-year long Computer-Assisted Learning Project in Lucknow, Basti, Allahabad and neighbouring districts.
Teach for India gave me an opportunity work more closely with the students as a class teacher. Yet another stepping stone in my journey towards seeking educational equity for all. :)

Hi Everyone!
I graduated from Pune University with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 2007, immediately after which I joined the corporate world as an IT Professional with Tata Consultancy Services. I have 2.5 yrs work experience and was located in Gurgaon / New Delhi.
I started volunteering in various activities with TCS Maitree in late 2008 and over the years it came around to becoming the driving force in my life, with all the people I interacted with making a huge impact on my view of the world around me. I found my skills being of much greater use when applying them for a cause and got a much deeper personal satisfaction with my volunteering work as compared to regular work.
I made a conscious decision to go into the social sector to make better use of my skills, saved up money for a year, quit my job in June 2010, migrated back to my hometown Pune and was on a break when a close friend introduced me to the Teach for India fellowship program with the tagline "It's perfect for you!". I met with some fellows and came to this school as a volunteer, was "sold" on the core values, philosophies and the sheer work of the fellows as well as completely hooked by the smiling young faces around me, applied and joined the movement as a Fellow in April 2011.
I love reading articles from all over the internet on general knowledge and world events and am especially inclined towards environment, sustainability and human rights. I also love to blog; check out http://www.nikhilsheth.tk. I'm a documentary-a-holic and have a huge collection of documentaries and TED Talks for anyone who's interested to see them! I love Web 2.0 and am adept at things related to computers and internet and specialize in setting up and publishing websites, wikis etc in the free domain. I keep posting things from all around the world on Facebook and Twitter - so catch up with me there!
Presently teaching 34 amazing kids in Grade 3 (2011-12), will continue as their "Bhaiyya!" in Grade 4 next year. (2012-13)
